PEEBLES-Curtis Wilson, 84, Peebles Route 4, died of carcinoma at 2 p.m. Monday in Wilmington at Young's Home for the Retired. He had lived here all his life with the exception of the past three months when he had been for a time at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Curliss of Wilmington, before going to the rest home. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Wilson was born March 15, 1875 in Adams County the son of Robert and Mary Dunbar* Wilson. He was married Dec. 20, 1911.  His wife, Icy Della Wilson, preceded him in death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Curliss of Wilmington, Mrs. Goldie Jones of Washington C.H. and Mrs. Sylvia Offenbacher of Lima; a son, Donald Wilson, and grandchildren. Mr. Wilson had seven brothers and five sisters all of whom are deceased. * (NOTE: Dunmire, not Dunbar)

Ralph 'Tarzan' Curliss 1925-2000 Ralph Leroy "Tarzan" Curliss, 74, of 107 Sycamore Drive, Wilmington, died 10:42 a.m. Friday (April 14, 2000) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife, Gladys Wilson Curliss, whom he married July 6, 1952, survives. He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Wilmington, son of the late Oscar and Ferrol McHenry Curliss. He was a member of the A Street Church of God. He was retired from International Paper, having worked at the Wilmington News Journal for 38 years prior to working at International Paper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, having received a Purple Heart. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Garry David (Pamela) Curliss of Brookville and Danny Ray (Debbie) Curliss of New Vienna; three brothers, Robert Curliss of Wilmington, Larry Curliss of Sabina and Michael Curliss of Costa Rica; seven sisters, Virginia Steele of Hillsboro, Ruth Allen of Hillsboro, Blanche Curliss of Lady Lake, Fla., Evelyn Waits of Dayton, Jane Leidenheimer of Mason, Maureen Curliss of Wilmington and Marilyn Hild of Inverness, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ralph Curliss, Megan Curliss, Erin Curliss, Allyson Curliss and Sinamon Curliss; five step-grandchildren, Mike Szucs, Jodi Miller, Julie Szucs, Vicki Burke and Staci Garrison; and three step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Curliss, Jr.; a sister, Betty Greely. The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God, 200 A Street, Wilmington, the Rev. Floyd Smith officiating, with burial in Clinton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington. *****
