ANOTHER SOLDIER SUMMONED
Death claimed another Adams County soldier, William Spurgeon, of Co. F 43d Reg. OVI. He has answered his roll call on high. Born April 7, 1839. Departed this life Oct 25, 1911, Age 72 years, 6 months, and 18 days. Was married to Mary Ann Ames on March 3, 1860. Children are Spencer, William, Susie, Ryan, John and Joseph, all present at the funeral except Spencer, who preceded his father to the world beyond a short time ago. Mrs. Spurgeon being an invalid and not able to go to the church. The funeral was held at the home, conducted by J. A. R. Couser. Interment at MayHill.
