Paul Dennis Swayne



Paul Dennis Swayne was born on May 12 1934, one of eleven children born to the late Bill and Ona Freeze Swayne. Dennis was a proud graduate of Franklin High School in the class of 1952. On December 12, 1953, he married Shirley Swisshelm and to this union were born four children; Pam, Denise, Denny and Alan. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Russell, Lloyd and Lester, and sister Weltha Daulton. He is suvived by his wife Shirley, daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mike McFarland, daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Al Roettele; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kim Swayne, grandchildren, Amy McFarland, Coleen, Cody and Cara Roettele, Michael, Dee and Kerry Swayne, Blake and Garrett Swayne. He is also survived by sisters, Zelma Knauff, Opal Browning, Eramalene Rhoads, and Kay Cofer; brothers, Dean and Lowell Swayne. Dennis served his family and his community well. He was a volunteer fireman on the Franklin Township Fire Department for 34 years and was a construction worker for 33 years. He retired from his construction work in 1988 due to heart disease. To further complicate his health, he was diagnosed with cancer on March 13, 2000. Dennis served his Lord as well as a member of Union Hill Church. Loving and kind in all his ways. Upright and just to the end of his day. Sincere and true in heart and mind. Beautiful memories he leaves behind. Dennis loved people, most especially his grandchildren. He will sadly be missed by all who knew him.
