Louisa L. Simmons

Louisa L. McGlaughlin, third daughter of the late Dr. J. W. McGlaughlin and wife, of Van Wert, OH was born December 3, 1880, and died at her home at Tranquility, OH April 13, 1921, being 40 years, 4 months, and 8 days old. On November 9, 1899 at Peebles, OH, she was united in marriage to Blanchard J. Simmons, of Tranquility, OH, by the late Rev. D. A. Morrison. To this union were born six children, three boys, Estelle L., Harold, Wilson P., and three girls, Opal Irene, Kathryn J., and Ruby M. She leaves husband, children, mother, step-father, step-mother, Mrs. F. McGlaughlin, two sisters, Mrs. Huldah M. Gilbert, of Adrian, Michigan, and Mrs. Hallie McIntire, of Elyria, OH, one half-brother, L. D. McGlaughlin, of Fletcher, OH, and one half-sister, C. J. Cotterman, of Denkirk, OH, a host of friends and relatives who will mourn her early demise. In early life, she was united with the Lawshe Christian Church and lived a faithful Christian life until God relieved her suffering. Officially she was affiliated with the Violet Camp R. U. A. of Peebles, OH and Grange No. 2181 of Lawshe. The mother, in her office, holds the key of the soul, and she it is who [...] the coin of character and makes the being who would be a savage, but for her gentle cares. A Christian man, then crown her queen of the world.
