Chester Shoemaker
Chester Shoemaker, 84, of Peebles, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at the Hillcrest Nursing Center in Lawshe. He was born March 16, 1915, in Rainsboro, the son of the late Newton and Mary Ann (Setty) Shoemaker. He was a member of the Peebles Sulphur Springs United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marie (Barnes) Shoemaker of Peebles, whom he married April 17, 1935; two sons, Billie Shoemaker of Mount Orab and Donnie Shoemaker of West Union; four daughters, Nina Lewis of Peebles, Jean Savage of Xenia, Patsy Cooper of Seaman and Etta Mae Lee of Mount Orab; 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2 p.m., at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, with Tom Tolle officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday at the funeral home.
