Caroline Cokonougher Shoemaker
Caroline Cokonougher Shoemaker, daughter of Christopher and Elizabeth Cokonougher, was born in Virginia on Dec. 18, 1825, and departed this life June 19, 1919. She came to this part of the country with her parents when she was nine years of age and spent her life in this moderate neighborhood. She was a member of the Brethern Church at Straight Creek. She leaves to mourn her loss: two daughters: Margaret Freeze of Clermont County, and Lucinda Evans of Peebles. She has 16 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren to mourn her loss. She was buried in the Locust Grove Cemetery on the 21st day of June.
