Andrew Junior Smalley
Andrew Junior Smalley, 62, of Greenfield, died Monday, October 10, at the Fayette Memorial Hospital in Washington C.H. He was born July 15 1932, in Adams County, the son of the late Andrew G. and Ella Beatrice Hudson Smalley. He was employed at the Washington C.H. American Legion and former employee of Collins Packing Company. He was a member of the Washington C.H. American Legion, Greenfield V.F.W. and Eagles and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his ex-wife, Virginia Groves Sharp Smalley of Greenfield; a step-daughter, Helna Winegar; one step-grandson, Benjamin Shiltz; two brothers, Nelson Smalley of Leesburg, and Archie A. Smalley of Peebles; one sister, Inez B. Sampson of Dayton; two step-brothers, Harold Murphy of Otway and Denver Murphy of Hillsboro; step-sisters, Stella Whitley of Columbus, Delphia McClure of Seaman, Eloise Helterbrand of Jamestown and Doris Boggs of Rocky Fork Lake. Services were held Thursday, October 13, at the Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield, Rev. Tom Zile officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Washinton C.H. American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or charity of donor's choice.
