Theodore "Ted" Purtee
Theordore "Ted" Purtee, 70, of Dunlap Road, Peebles, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at the V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born on Dec. 3, 1929 in Rarden, OH, to the late Ace and Dora Newman Purtee. Surviving are his wife, Lynn Moore Purtee, whom he married on Nov. 6, 1960. Surviving are six children; Theodosia Conaster of Colorado; Jim Jenkins of Rarden; Joe Jenkins of Piketon; Sheryl Moore of Otway; Ted Purtee II, and Stanley Purtee, both of Rarden; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Purtee, and a granddaughter, Shawnason Lee Ann Moore. He was retired from the N&W Railroad with 30 years service, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct 12, 2000 at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Monty White officiating. Burial in Newman Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites conducted by Amereican Legion-William A. Baker Post #363 of Lucasville.
