Phyllis A. Newman
Phyllis A. Newman, 91, of West Union, died Sunday, Nov., 17, 2002, at the Adams County Hospital in West Union. She was born in Adams County on April 10, 1911, the daughter of the late Minor Edward and Esta (Cole) Abbott. She was a member of the Stonewall Grange 2639, Disabled Veterans Auxiliary, East Liberty Church and the Womens' Christian Society. Surviors include one nephew, Robert Abbott of Hillsboro; one niece, Willadene Graham of Glendale; and several great-nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Beam Funeral Home in West Union with Volley Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service. Memorials may be made to the East Liberty Church.
