Ida Newman
Ida Newman, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and formerly of Peebles, passed away Sunday, December 17, at the Covington Manor Nursing Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born March 13, 1902, a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Miller, of near Peach Mountain. She was united in marriage to Wilbert Newman, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Newman was a member of the Peebles Church of God and a retired cook from the Peebles School District where she worked for many years. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, at the Brook-Lafferty-Wallace and Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Rev. James Howell officiated. Burial was in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
