Andy McFarland



Andy McFarland, 68, of Peebles, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the Adams County Hospital in West Union. He was born in Peebles on Aug 12, 1933, the son of the late Ernest J. and Rhoda Grace (Taylor) McFarland. He attended the Peebles Church of God. He retired after 32 years from Fifth Third Bank in Peebles where he was branch manager and vice president. He was a member of the Adams County Honor Guard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Doris (Bennington) McFarland of Peebles, whom he married Mar 21, 1953; one son, Gary McFarland and Pam Cameron; three brothers, James McFarland of West Union, Burton McFarland of Peebles, and Ernest McFarland of Manchester; three sisters, Thelma Neill of Scottsdale, Wilma Johnson and Ann Rudd, both of Peebles; two grandsons; and friend Sara Turner. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vohn McFarland and Harry McFarland. Services were held Saturday, April 13 at the Peebles Church of God with Ron Stephens and Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
