James O. Hawkins
James O. Hawkins, 52, of Peebles, passed away Tuesday, December 26, at the Adams County Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Blakely Hawkins; one son, Brian Hawkins of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; one step-son, Robert Blakely of Tennessee; two daughters, Tina Messer of Cincinnati, and Angie Oakley of Kentucky; two brothers, Bob Hawkins of Peebles and Tomy Hawkins of Seaman; three sisters, Rosemary Ball of Peebles, Sharon Ryan of Tennessee and Roxanne Harris of West Union; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Hawkins attended the Praise and Worship Christian Center in Lawshe and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam war. Services were Saturday, December 30, at the Brooke-Lafferty-Wallace and Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Burial followed at the Louisville Cemetery with Joe Sandlin officiating. Military graveside services were conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
