George W. Hughes
George W. Hughes, 70, of Manchester, died Monday, December 5, at the home of his son in Union City, Indiana. He was born September 14, 1924, at Manchester, son of the late Harvey Oscar and Effie Guthrie Hughes. He attended the Manchester Nazarene Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louise Frye Hughes, in 1987. Survivors include a son, George Hughes of Union City, Indiana; two daughters, Diana K. Owen of Medway and Rebecca Grooms of Manchester; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Hughes and Francis Morgan, both of Manchester. Funeral services will be held Thursday 2:00 p.m., at the Ellis-Beam Funeral Home in West Union, John Greenlee officiating. Burial will be in the Manchester Cemetery. Calling hours will be two hours before services Thursday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Drake County, Inc., 122 W. Marts Street, Greenville, Ohio.
