Eddie Hoop, 49, of Seaman, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Adams County on June 16, 1953, the son of Oscar Sherwood and Nellie (Tolle) Hoop. He was co-owner and parts manager of Baxla Tractor Sales, U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era; member of the Seaman United Methodist Church; and board member of the Seaman Fall Festival. Survivors include his wife, Valerie (Baxla) Hoop; his father, Sherwood Hoop of Seaman; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jared and Heather Hoop of Seaman and Jermeny Hoop of Seaman; two daughters, Keri Hoop and Kristi Hoop, both of Seaman; one grandson, Hunter Hoop; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Linda Hoop of Columbus; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Richard Young of Seaman and Mary and Norman Woods of Cincinnati; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Hoop. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Seaman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Johnson and the Rev. Steve Zinger officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Leigh Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
