E. E. Holt
E.E. Holt, 93, of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Worthington, Ohio, passed away March 16 at his home. He was born in Adams County on November 12, 1901, to Oscar V. and Emma Kay Moore Holt, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Nelle Shoemaker, son Sgt. Jack E. Holt in World War II, and two brothers, John W. Holt and Esten V. Holt. A graduate of West Union High School, Mr. Holt was Superintendent of Schools at Higginsport, Georgetown, Hillsboro, Marion and Springfield and State Superintendent of Public Instruction for Ohio from 1954 to 1966. Surviving are his wife, Gleda Farrell Holt; daughter and son-in-law, Paul and Jane Hersey of Reston, Virginia; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday, March 25, at Rutherford-Corbin Chapel, Worthington
