Everett J. "Dick" Garman


Everett J. (Dick) Garman, 93, of Sinking Spring community, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at the home of his son. He was born in Adams County, on Aug. 10, 1909, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Cline) Garman. Survivors include his second wife, Annabell (Vance) Garman, whom he married Jan. 21, 1978; one son and daugher-in-law, James and Joyce Garman of Sinking Spring; one stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Richard and Sandy Vance of Hillsboro; two sisters, Olive Ferrell of Bainbridge and Ruby Shoemaker of Lynchburg; one brohter, Chestser Garman of Xenia; four grandchildren, Kenneth Garman, Michele (Raymond) Ahrman, Carol Cadwallader, Mark (Pam) Garman; eight great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie (Knauff) Garman, who died April 10, 1956; one daughter and four sons. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Daniel Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
