Lesta Eldridge Duerigen


Lesta Eldridge Duerigen, 94, died Saturday, January 14, at Mount Pleasant Nursing Home at Monroe. Born at Peach Mountain, Adams County, on February 27, 1900, she was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where she served as President of the Women's Association, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher. She was a 50-year member of the Lebanon Grange, a member of the White Oak Farm Bureau Council, and Rebeccas Lodge. She graduated from the Littleford Business School in 1922, then worked as Secretary to the Director of Nurses at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. She retired in 1964, after working 14 years at the Lebanon Production Credit Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Duerigen. She is survived by one son, Robert T. Duerigen of Indianapolis, three grandchildren; Robert W. (Bill) Duerigen of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lucinda Poholarz of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Cynthia Nixon of Sabastian, Florida; three great-grandchildren, Megan, Nicole, and Philip Nixon; three nieces, Delpha Stinson, Nancy Wallace and Marge Keesee; and one nephew, Homer Eldridge. Services were Tuesday, January 17, at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church under direction of Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home in Lebanon. Memorial contributions may be made in the Robert E. Duerigen Memorial Fund c/o the Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
