Howard Cooper
Funeral services for Howard Cooper, 50, of 1125 Fourth St. are to be at 2 p.m. Friday at McKendree Chapel. Cooper died early Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital at Huntington following an illness of three years. He had been in the hospital a month. Born Sept 21, 1913, in Adams County, he was a son of Ed and Leona Smith Cooper. Surviving are his father, who lives at 307 Third St.[, Portsmouth]; a brother, Russell Cooper, also of Third St. address; a sister, Mrs. Helen Workman, 1125 Fourth St. and two nephews. Cooper formerly was employed by Portsmouth Docking Co. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Burial is to be in McKendree Cemetery under the direction of Lynn Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
