Clarence Burns


Clarence Burns, 56, of Winchester, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at the Brown County Hospital in Georgetown. He was born in Peebles on Nov 26, 1946, the son of the late John and Nora (Freeze) Burns. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Survivors include his wife, Clara (Jordan) Burns, whom he married Dec 4, 2002; one daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Will Wilmoth of Midland; three step-children, Lora Howard of Winchester, Junior Jordan of Winchester and Elmina Taylor of Goshen; seven brothers, Floyd Burns of West Virginia, Russell Burns of Texas, Ralph Burns of Peebles, Larry Burns of Hillsboro, Roger Burns of Marion, Marvin Burns of Peebles, and Jerry Burns of Peebles; seven sisters, Mabel Thompson of Georgia, Mary Short of Peebles, Pearline Williams of Peebles, Ruth Burns of Peebles, Violet Lynch of Texas, Wanda Warren of Dayton and Sharon Chaney of Highland; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday, Dec 23, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Burial followed in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
