OBIT

Robert E. Wilson

Life can be compared to a day in summer, the dawn comes stealing over the face of the earth and all nature seems to be glad at the grand awakening, thus it is with childhood and infancy, our very nature seems to abound with the joy of living and the day grows shorter and the heat of the day gives out the life giving rays of the sun so the earth might be replenished and abound with fruit. So it is with an adult. The period is heightened by the energy of the individual. Storms may come on a summer day as they do in life. After the heat of the mid-day we are blessed with the calm of the evening, a time when it is possible for us to contemplate what we have done, a time to relax and give our bodies rest. So it is with us. Old age, the evening of life comes to us and we can look back and see the results of our labor. And then as evening falls we see the end of the day, and the sun sinks slowly behind the distant hills. Another day is ended. Life too, must come to the end of its zenith and it fades slowly away. Into the night of death, to be awakened at a more glorious dawning. With this thought in mind. Let us think of the one whom we are honoring today.

Robert Lee Wilson, was born May 6th, 1868 in Westmoreland County, PA. Lived there until a young man in his teens. When he came with his parents to Ohio, he lived the greater part of his life in Adams County near Poplar Grove community. He was united in marriage to Anna Lou White March 24th, 1889. To this union ten children were born. 3 have preceded their father in death. The living children are.

Clarence Edwin, Pleasant Plain, OH; David Valentine, Sinking Spring; Virgel Carey Wilson, Sinking Spring; Mary Elizabeth Skidmore, Sinking Spring; Golden Ellsworth, Poplar Grove; Gladys Opal Garmon, New Vienna, OH; Raymond Earl at home.

Mr. Wilson, wife and son came to Peebles last fall. He had been ailing for sometime and took suddenly ill last week. On March 29,1942* departed from this life. He had been a member of Mt. Zion Church since early manhood. Surviving him beside his wife and children are brother and sisters: Bert, Curtis, Frank, Maggie White, Sinking Spring; Adda Tumbleson of Owensville, OH. He also left behind 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Notes for ELIZABETH FAYE CLINE:

OBIT

We are again reminded that death is in our midst, for it has claimed the life of Elizabeth Faye Wilson, May 28th, 1964. She was born in Adams County, August 16th, 1897, to Joseph and Louise Cline, and was 66 years, 9 months, and 12 days of age. She was united in marriage to Virgil Wilson, December 19th, 1920. This union was blessed with 10 children. One daughter, Grace, passed away in January 1963. Nine children together with the husband and father survive. Four Sons: Joseph Robert and James of Wilmington. Charles of Miami, Fla. Chester of Sabina. Five Daughters: Mrs. Ermaline McAdams of Albequerque, New Mexico. Mrs. Betty Gotherman of Cincinnati. Mrs. Louise Logan and Mrs. Doris Roberts of Dayton. Mrs. Jane Cruver of Citrus Heights, Calif. Eighteen Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. Four brothers: John Cline of Peebles, Ohio. She gave her heart to God when a young woman, and has walked hand in hand with Him all these years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Union Church in Pike County, Ohio. She Has answered the summons we all must answer. She has fought the fight, finished the course and kept the faith, therefore a crown in awaiting her. We believe she's enjoying the glories of Heaven, united with her family and friends who have gone home. It will be a grand reunion day when we all get home to shake her hand on the other shore.

I would not grieve too much, the promise tells
That rest is hers who sleeps so sweetly there.
Beyond the dull slow tolling of the bells
Which marks her passing,
Life is free from care.
So when death comes, tho' hard it seems to bear
And long the years with al their loneliness
The loved one has been called away from care
To high promotion, rest and happiness.
She has been called from pain and hurt and strife
From all the ills which fall to flesh and clay
She has been raised unto an ample life
Nor should we mourn too much who still must stay.

The family wish to extend thanks at this time to all who helped in any way in their hour of bereavement. To those who donated flowers, to the undertaker, Minister and all friends and neighbors who extended a helping hand. May the Lord richly bless each one. The Wilson Family.
